While our season remains in a constant flux, due to the rapidly moving Covid-19 pandemic, we are remaining optimistic. I am using this as an opportunity to remind myself and my kids that the only thing we really get to choose is our attitude. My attitude right now is “Move forward one step at a time.”
While things are uncertain right now, Velocity Running Club is moving forward in the following ways:
1) Delaying our season start to May. Based on Governor Herbert’s plan for recovery (Read the full plan), Velocity Running Club will follow health and economic guidelines to make sure our athletes and communities are safe.
2) Creating solutions for an adapted season. While we are optimistic (moving forward!), we ask for your patience as we re-frame our season according to the Covid-19 outbreak and best health practices. Start date, season duration, and what a track meet will look like may change, but we will adapt and get things back on track (pun intended) for the kids as soon as possible.
3) Offering a helping hand. We’re offering a low-cost digital coaching option that we are using to help in two ways: One as a help to you– parents/kids that are unexpectedly away from coaches and teachers, and two as a way to help a local non-profit. For many around us, times are suddenly hard. Our digital coaching program is $10, and we will donate the proceeds to the Utah Food Bank.
