Fall Cross Country Programs:

Recreational Program - Northern Utah

What: A quality cross country program created by former collegiate runners and coaches that will introduce kids to the sport of cross country through games, skills, and competitions that focus on ethics, excellence, and enjoyment. (We emphasize the fun part of our program to get kids excited about running and movement!)

Who: Kids age 6-15 

Where: Local parks, elementary fields, etc.

When: Starting Mid-September, twice a week for 1 hour each. 

Cost: $80 for 6 weeks, includes practices twice weekly, 3 meets and a tech t-shirt.

Jr. High/Competitive Program- Northern Utah

What: A quality cross country plan for those that are ready for a little more challenge. We focus on ethics, enjoyment and excellence. The extra practice/week and more challenging workouts give older kids a chance to really shine, with practices designed by former collegiate runner and elite coach Jason Judkins. 

Who:  Runners age 11-14 that are willing to handle 15 miles of running per week, building to 20-25 miles per week. 

Where: Local parks, jr. high fields

When: Starting early to mid-September

Cost: $135 for 7 weeks (That's ~$6/session), includes practices three times weekly, a tech t-shirt, 3-5 meets 

Two teams: Farr West (practices at Mtn View Park), and West Point (practices at Loy Blake Park)

Fall XC Recreation Season Add On - Northern Utah

What: An additional 3 weeks of practice, 2x/week to prepare for the USATF state meet on Nov 13 at Valley Regional Park in SLC.

Who:  Runners age 7-14

Where: Two practice locations to choose from. Farr West at Mtn View Park, MTH at 5:30, or West Point at Loy Blake Park TTH at 4:30.

When: From Oct 25- Nov 13

Cost: $60*, includes entry to the USATF state meet

*A current USATF membership is required to participate ($25). If USATF registration is completed on or after Nov 1, the registration will also be good for 2022. Before then, USATF membership will expire in Dec 2021.

Recreational Program - Southern Utah

What: A quality cross country program created by former collegiate runners and coaches that will introduce kids to the sport of cross country through games, skills, and competitions that focus on ethics, excellence, and enjoyment. (We emphasize the fun part of our program to get kids excited about running and movement!)

Who: Kids age 1st-8th grade

Where: Local parks, elementary fields, etc.

When: Starting Mid-September, twice a week for 1 hour each. 

Cost: $100 for 6 weeks, includes practices twice weekly, 2-3 meets

Meets Only

What: An option for busy kids who want to race, but are involved in other sports/activities and don't have the time for practice. Although we highly recommend practice, life is busy, so this option is for you.

Who: Runners 1st-8th grade

Where: Meet Schedule TBD

When: TBD

Cost: $20 includes entry into three meets. Participants will get a race bib at their first race that will be good for all 3 races. Lost bibs are a $5 replacement fee. 

Age Groups:

Hummingbirds: Age 6,  race 1K distance

Swallows: Age 7-8, race 2K distance

Swifts: Age 9-10, race 3K distance

Eagles: Age 11-15 race 3K distance

COMPETITIVE TEAM:

Falcons: Age 11-15, born 2006-2010, race 4K distance

Course Directors/Coach Aides
We are always in need of Coach Aides to help encourage and organize kids at practice, as well as Course Directors to help produce the cross country meets. Coach Aides receive a free child entry into the program, and Course Directors are paid $5/hour. If you are interested in either of these positions, and are age 13 or over, please contact League Director, Stephanie Chambers at 801-390-6139.
